Giddy Up, Wild West Wednesday Is On The Radio

I guess you could call me a "salt water cowboy".  I've spent the past 25 years living along the coast, just a few blocks from the Atlantic Ocean.  Myrtle Beach,  South Carolina is home sweet home.  So, how could it be that I have this passion for the Wild West?

Perhaps it comes from watching John Wayne movies as a child.  Maybe, I could blame it on the Cartwrights.  Or The Lone Ranger...hhhhmmm?

Regardless, as I started programming WLSC Tiger Radio after a switch to a talk format last November, I decided to do something completely different.  Listeners that tune in on Wednesday afternoons and evenings will surely agree.

Wild West Wednesdays on WLSC Tiger Radio start at 4 pm with a program hosted by 2 brothers living on their ranch in Wyoming.  Jim and Andy Nelson deliver a hilarious look at cowboy life with their show, "Clear Out West".

Starting at 5 pm, Dakota Livesay goes back in time sharing stories from actual newspaper articles from the 1800s, "Chornicle of the Old West" is an informative and entertaining look at American history as seen through the eyes of newspaper reports from long ago.  This delightful radio program actually originated from a magazine that Livesay created years ago and is still in publication.

Red Steagall and the boys in the bunkhouse gather around the microhone to share stories and cowboy poetry when "Cowboy Corner" hits the air at 6 pm.  Steagall's interviews with ranchers, cowboys, singers and stars of those good ol' westerns from yesteryear will have you yearning to saddle up and head out west.  Listeners may know Steagall from his monthly feature in Cowboys & Indians magazine. Red can also be seen weekly on RFD-TV.

Finally, we've dusted off the tumbleweeds from our incredible collection of old radio dramas.  For two hours every week,  you'll be entertained by the likes of Gunsmoke, Have Gun Will Travel, Hopalong Cassidy, Gene Autry, Death Valley Days and a whole lot more.

So, giddy up and head out to the radio ranch known as WLSC Tiger Radio as we present for buckaroos of all ages, a fun filled afternoon and evening of cowboy fun! Wild West Wednesday is on the air!

Stay Tuned!
